Yay...Challenge Completed!

I wanted to make a card with each of Close To My Heart's 4 New Background Thin Cuts & I did it!

For this Birthday Card, I used Close To My Heart Patterned Papers & Cardstock with CTMH's Floral Background Thin Cut.

I used MFT's Stitched Oval Dies.

I used the following CTMH Stamp Sets: You Brighten My Day (smile), Birthday Greetings (It's Your Birthday), October Stamp of the Month - With All My Love (sending love & happy birthday) & Stitch Wonder for the stamped stitches.

Heart Tree Christmas Card

I wanted to make a card with all the heart cut outs from the card that I posted yesterday (Bumble Bee Birthday Card with heart background).

So, I used the hearts to make fun trees and turned it into a winter themed Christmas Card.

I used Close To My Heart's Patterned Paper & Cardstock with CTMH's Stitched Lattice Background Thin Cut.

I also used MFT's Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies.

I used CTMH's Love With All the Trimmings Stamp Set for the front sentiment and the inside sentiment was from CTMH's D1512 Christmas Stamp Set (it's an old set with no name on the envelope).

HAP-BEE BIRTHDAY CARD

I love how this Bee Themed Birthday Card came together.

I couldn't find an appropriate "Bee" themed sentiment for the front of my card, so I made it on my computer. Funny enough, the font that I used is called Bumble Bee.

I used Close To My Heart's Patterned Papers & Cardstock with CTMH's Hearts Background Thin Cut.

I also used MFT's Stitched Rectangle Die and a Miscellaneous Daisy Die & a Stitched Banner Die.

I used CTMH's Bumble Bee Stamp & Die with Copic Markers Y18 & 110.

For the inside sentiment, I used CTMH's Curly Sentiments Stamp Set & Stampin' Up's Touches of Texture Stamp Set for the inside small bumble bee.

Thinking of You Free Make 'n' Take Card

 Thinking of You Card
Free Make 'n' Take at my
Backyard Stamping Gathering
Thursday, September 10, 2020
4 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Trevor will be serving Hot Apple Cider and maintaining the bon fire for us during this Covid Friendly Event.

For those of you attending, please bring your own tape, glue pen & scissors...less sharing of tools equals less sharing of possible bad germs.

For my card, everything will be cut out for you and stamped out as well, all you will be doing is putting the card together.

My goal for this card was to keep it simple and only use one stamp set.

Yay Me! I accomplished that goal and I love how it turned out.

I used Close To My Heart's Cardstock with one of CTMH's New Background Thin Cuts - Olive Branches. I also used MFT's Stitched Oval Die for the front sentiment.

For the inside of the card, I used the same background thin cut and just cut away what I didn't want.

I used CTMH's Treasured Memories Stamp Set.

Close To My Heart's Background dies are exactly 4.25 x 5.5 in size; which is a perfect fit for the front of the card.

In order for the die cut to fit on the inside of the card, I had to make my card base a smidge bigger in order for the die cut to fit with the crease from the fold on the inside of the card.

My card base is actually 4.375 X 5.563.

Thinking of You Motion Card

This Thinking of You Card was my first attempt at making a "Motion" Card. Funny thing though...I never got to see it in motion because my concussion symptoms did not like it every time that I tried to see if it worked.

So, I had to trust my husband that the card worked the way it was supposed to. Then when my girlfriends came by to sign the card, they reassured me that it was working the way it was supposed to.

When you move the black piece of paper with the dragonflies on it back & forth behind the black striped piece of acetate, it makes the dragonflies look like they are moving.

There was around a dozen of us signing this card for our friend whose dad passed away, so that is why I made both sides of the inside of this card "pretty".

I absolutely loved how this card turned out. It looks so much better in person because I couldn't get the gold foil paper to scan or photograph nicely.

I used Close To My Heart's White Daisy & Black Cardstocks, CTMH Gold Foil Heart Patterned Paper & CTMH's Gold Foil Paper.

I used CTMH's Animation (Motion) Sheet & Your Next Stamp's Black Enamel Dots.

I used CTMH's Border Tab Thin Cut, CTMH's Stitched Heart Thin Cuts, Sizzix Grand Labels Twenty-Three Die, MFT's Stitched Rectangle Die, Jaded Blossom's Border Die and My Creative Time's Stitched Banner Dies.

All the Stamp Sets that I used on this card were from CTMH: Border Tab (pull here), Animated Butterfly Kisses (dragonfly), So Many Smiles (Thinking of You), Words of Comfort (inside sentiment).

Our friend loved the card.

For the shirt, I used the Bernard MT Condensed Font.

Trevor's Father's Day Card

This is the Father's Day Card that I made for my husband this year.

He loves Tiger Lilies. So, when MFT Stamps came out with this lily die set, I just had to have it.

I used Doodlebug Patterned Papers with Bazzill Teal, Orange & Green Cardstocks & CTMH White Daisy Cardstock.

I used Stampin' Up's A Good Man Stamp Set and CTMH's Short & Sweet Stamp Set for the Happy Father's Day Sentiment.

I used MFT's Lily Die Set & Stitched Oval Dies and My Creative Time's Stitched Banner & Stitched Heart Dies.

Angie Blom Digital Design Creations' June Challenge

I designed this card for Angie Blom Digital Design Creations' June Colour Challenge - Yellow, Grey, Blue.

This is a challenge that is posted on her Facebook Page.

Angie Blom is an amazing artist who designs fabulous images for us to craft with.

I first fell in love with her when she designed rubber stamps for Unity. Recently, she took the plunge to go out on her own and start her own digital store - Angie Blom Digital Designs.

Not only is she an amazing, creative, and beautiful woman from the inside out...she is Canadian!

Even though I am not a big fan of using digital stamps, I want to support this Fabulous Canadian Woman.

So, when her first challenge was posted on June 1, 2020, I told myself that I had to make a point to play along.

Nothing like leaving it to the last possible moment...I was finally able to get into my scrap room last night to play along and I LOVE how this card turned out.

I used Angie Blom's Camping Adventures Digital Set for the lantern, Excites the Spirit Bird Digital Set for the front sentiment and Fabulous as Always Digital Set for the inside sentiment of this 6 x 6 card.

I used a Spellbinder Die and the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine to embellish the card and all the papers I used are from Close To My Heart.

I used Copic Markers: C1, C5, C6, W3 & Y26.

Teacher End of School Year Gift

This is the Canvas Bag that I made for TJ's Grade 3 Teacher for her End of School Year gift (the bottle of wine was for her & her husband).

I used my Cricut Machine to cut out the red heat transfer vinyl (Cuttin' Up Font) & my Cricut Easy Press 2 to transfer the words onto the bag.

I bought the canvas bag at Hobby Lobby when I was in Duluth last December.

Mrs. Shewchuk sent me a photo of her holding up her bag and thanked us for the gift and informed us that it is already filled up with books.

One of her favourite things to do with her students is read to them. So, when we went to E-Learning, she recorded herself reading books so that she could still do that with her students...like I mentioned yesterday...she is an AWESOME TEACHER.

Teacher's End of School Card, Envelope & Tag

TJ's Grade 3 Teacher, Mrs. Shewchuk, is an amazing teacher. From the first time I met her, I knew she was truly doing her calling in life.

When the pandemic hit and we switched to E-Learning until the end of this school year, Mrs. Shewchuk went above and beyond to give her students the guidance they needed.

I always do holiday gifts and year end gifts for my children's Elementary School Teachers, but this year I really wanted to make TJ's teacher feel appreciated because of the interesting times that we are living in.

Fortunately, my parents are friends with Mrs. Shewchuk's parents and I was able to get my card & gift personally delivered.

The first two photos are the front & inside of my 6.5" x 5.5" card.

I used Doodlebug patterned papers with CTMH Glitter Paper, Bazzill cardstock & Copic paper.

I used Jaded Blossom's Caught a Virus Stamp Set for the masked virus image and CTMH's Teacher Appreciation Stamp Set for the sentiments.

I used The Greeting Farm's "Thank You" die, CC Design's Stitched Banner Die, MFT's Stitched Rectangle Regular & Scalloped Dies and EK Success' Zig Zag Border Punch.

Copic Markers: YG17, YG25 & B28.

You can't tell in the photo, but I used CTMH's Clear Shimmer Brush on the blue mask to give it a bit of sparkle.

TJ didn't want me to use googly eyes on this card because he likes the "cutie eyes"

The next two photos are of the envelope I made for the card.

I used Doodlebug's School Themed Stickers to spruce up the envelope.

The last two photos are of the front & back of the tag that I made for the bottle of wine that I bought for Mrs. & Mr. Shewchuk. Mr. Shewchuk also worked in my son's classroom as an Educational Assistant and participated in the Zoom Classes as well.

I cut the apple image and the word "ENJOY!" out with my Cricut Machine (Crispin Font) and the "SURVIVED" sentiment was printed out from my computer.

TJ's End of School Card - Last Day of Grade 3

This is the card that I made for my 8 year old son's last day of Grade 3.

His last day of E-Learning was Thursday, June 18, 2020, but if he was in his physical classroom...his last day of school would have been Friday, June 26, 2020.

So, we celebrated his last day of school yesterday.

He absolutely LOVED his card!

All the patterned papers used on this card are from Doodlebug and I used a Bazzill yellow cardstock for the base of my card.

I used Jaded Blossom's Caught a Virus Stamp Set for the masked virus image. The "SURVIVED" sentiment was printed off my computer, "TJ" is Basic Grey stickers and the rest of the sentiments were designed with my Cricut using my Disney Mickey Font.

I used a spellbinder wonky circle die for behind the virus, My Creative Time stitched star die & a miscellaneous small star die.

I used these Copic Markers: BG72, BG57, Y35 & Y15.

Family Game Night Sign

I made this sign for my parents' 33rd Wedding Anniversary.

Many years ago, my parents rented our basement apartment so that they would have the freedom to travel.

They got to go to Texas one winter before my grandma had her stroke & then my parents stayed close to home after that to take care of my grandparents.

Last year, we tore down our 24 x 16 deck that hosted many family events throughout the 20 plus years of us living here.

I thought it would be nice to give my parents a piece of our deck to have at their house.

So, I made them this sign from one of our deck boards.

I mixed some of my acrylic paints together with water to stain the board and made this stencil with my Cricut Machine to paint the saying onto the board.

Our family gatherings quite often turn into game nights.

Happy 2nd Birthday Bay Village!

One of my favourite local coffee shops, Bay Village Coffee, celebrated their 2nd birthday this month. They are also big supporters of our Thunder Pride organization and have been making these fun & fabulous rainbow donuts throughout the month.

I used Doodlebug's Patterned Papers with a Bazzill Brown cardstock.

I used Jaded Blossom's Tea for Two Stamp Set with Stampin' Up Copper Embossing Powder.

I used Jaded Blossom's Triangle Card Mat Die for the background, Simon Says' Rainbow Heart Die, Simon Says Tea Cup Die, CTMH's Stitched Heart Die, MFT's Stitched Border Die & Jaded Blossom's Stitched Number Die.

To make the Rainbow Heart Shimmer & Shine, I have rediscovered the fun of doing the burnished velvet technique.

If you aren't familiar with burnished velvet, it is a micro fine glitter that after you have covered your sticky area with this glitter and removed the excess glitter...you rub this glitter into place to make it sparkle.

I used a sheet of two sided tape to cut out my rainbow heart. Then I removed the protective filament from the area that I wanted to glitter, did the technique, then removed the next area and so forth and so forth.

I used Jewel Glitter Ritz Opaque Micro Fine Glitter in the following colours: Cinnamon, Regal Red, Orange, Yellow, Canadian Blue, Sweet Basil and Purple.

Vicki's Birthday Card

Today is my sister, Vicki's, birthday. She loves to go camping and fishing, so I thought I would work with that theme for her card this year.

My card also fits Jaded Blossom's Summer Challenge they have on for this month.

I used Doodlebug's patterned papers with CTMH's White Daisy cardstock & Bazzill Teal cardstock.

I used Jaded Blossom's Fish On Stamp Set.

I used Jaded Blossom's Triangle Square Mat Die for the background, Stampin' Up's Label Die for the front sentiment, miscellaneous octagon die, CC Design's Fishing Rod & Heart Die, My Creative Time's Banner Die for the inside sentiment and I cut the Penguin, the fish & the hook out with my Cricut Machine.

Marissa's College Graduation Card

I made this card for my niece, Marissa.

I used Doodlebug Patterned Papers with Scrapbook Sally's Shimmer Cardstock & Bazzill Cardstock.

The sentiment on the front of the card was drawn & cut with my Cricut.

To embellish the card, I used Prima Marketing Flowers, Kaiser Craft Pearls, MFT Stitched Oval Dies, CC Designs Star Die & a miscellaneous stitched banner die.

I used a MFT's Stamp for the inside sentiment with various CTMH stamp sets to stamp the small stars around the sentiment.

Grandpa Cringle's 90th Birthday Card

Grandpa Cringle's 90th Birthday Card

Today is our Grandpa Cringle's 90th Birthday.

He was supposed to have a big birthday party today in BC, but due to Covid-19 it has been changed to a Family Zoom Party tonight.

I wanted to make him a fun birthday card that was a party all on its own...so I made him a shaker card.

I used Doodlebug Patterned Papers with Bazzill Cardstocks.

I used my Cricut Machine to cut out the "90", party hat, party horn & streamers.

For the inside of the shaker card, I used Queen & Co. Micro Beads and Trinity Confetti Sprinkles & Stars.

I used Jaded Blossom's Birthday 4 Stamp Set for the "Happy Birthday" & for the inside sentiment I used CTMH's Birthday Hugs & Kisses Stamp Set.

Before the pandemic shut everything down, we got to see Trevor's grandparents in BC. For Grandpa's Birthday, I put together 90 photos from our trip to BC in an album for them to both enjoy.

Amy's 22nd Birthday Card

This is the birthday card that I made my daughter for her 22nd birthday.

Lately, Amy has been using her typewriter and even teaching her brother how to use it and her favourite colour is purple.

So, that is how this card came together.

I bought the 3D Typewriter card design from Lori Whitlock (who just happens to have all her SVGs on sale right now for 50% off).

I used Close To My Heart patterned papers and white daisy cardstock.

I used CTMH's Tiny Typewriter Alphabet Stamp Set to spell out "Amy and Love, Mom & Dad", CTMH's Celebrating You for the sentiment and Jaded Blossom's So Many Birthdays for the "Happy Birthday".

Covid Album - Pages 10 & 11

Covid Album - Pages 10 & 11

We used Doodlebug Patterned Papers with CTMH White Daisy cardstock.

To embellish the layouts, we used Trinity Small Hearts, Doodlebug Plastic Stars and a Doodlebug House Brad.

We used My Creative Time's Star & Speech Bubble Dies and a miscellaneous star burst dies.

The layout with the photo of TJ reading with Winnie, TJ did this page. I want each family member to make at least one page in our Covid Album with their hand writing on it.

Amy has been teaching TJ how to type on her typewriter, so she offered to help TJ with his speech bubble journal boxes.

The layout of TJ scrapbooking is my design. I made it to match TJ's layout for a two page spread in our album.

Covid Album - Pages 4 - 9

Covid Album Pages 4 - 9

For my layouts, I used CTMH's These Are My People's Cut Above Kit and just altered the pages a bit to fit the photos that I wanted to use. I also used CTMH's Black & White Enamel Dots & 3D Foam to pop up some of the photos and embellishments.

This outing couldn't be wrapped up easily in a couple of pages...so I added a few 4 x 6 photo pages to help record the whole story.
