The new CTMH Catalogues arrived this week. My consultant, is also my best-friend. She receives all the Stamps of the Months with her catalogue order and I was able to play last night with the August Stamp of the Month - Wicked.
I love this stamp set.
I used BoBunny's Vicki Cut-Outs two sided patterned paper with Bobunny Strawberry Double Dot and Bazill Bitter Chocolate, Classic Orange & Intense Kiwi.
The border strip was punched out with one of EK Success' Large Border Punches. I embellished the card by stitching around the card with my sewing machine and by adding Basic Grey's Bling It Square Rhinestones. I also rounded the corners of the patterned paper with EK Success' Medium Corner Rounder.
For the inside of the card, the middle sentiment was cut out with Spellbinder's Labels 14 Nestability and I used Stampin' Up's Photo Corner punch in the corners.
All the little words around the border strip are from CTMH's "Authentic" and "Fill in the Blank" stamp sets. The spiders, the witch, inside sentiments and the hat are all from CTMH's August Stamp of the Month - Wicked stamp set.
Close to My Heart's new catalogue not only has some great Stamps of the Month, but the stamp set prices have come down, the Stamp of the Month program has changed and they have partnered up with Cricut.
That's right! There is a Cricut Cartridge for sale in the CTMH catalogue that comes with chipboard die-cuts and 3 D-Size stamp sets for $109.95.
Throughout the catalogue you will see red lines around some of the stamps. That means that shape is on the Cricut Cartridge. When you purchase that stamp set, it will tell you what size to cut that shape out to fit that stamped image on the Cricut cut out. The Cartridge also has a font on it.
If you don't know how to get your hands on a Close to My Heart catalogue, I always keep extras on hand here for people to purchase for $5.00. I also have extra Stampin' Up catalogues here as well for $12.00.
Stampin' Up's new ribbon collections are gorgeous. To see one of their new ruffled ribbons on a layout, you can go to my store's blog and check out the September Calendar Page.
Have a Wicked Day!
I made this card for my girlfriend's daughter.
The patterned papers are from Kaiser Craft's Hey Birdie 6 x 6 paper pack and the cardstock is from Bazzill.
I used my nestabilities to cut out the oval and scalloped oval die-cuts and Stampin' Up's scalloped border punch on the inside of the card.
The brads are from my stash and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.
The monkey image stamp is from CC Designs, the "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from CTMH's "Happy Birthday" stamp set and the inside sentiment is from Stampin' Up's "Bring on the Cake" stamp set.
Copic Markers used: Dark Brown - E57 & E55; Tan - E31, E33 & E50; Cherry - RV19; Cupcake Icing - RV34, RV32 & Blossom Spica
I had a blast making this card and I loved making it so much that I made a total of 6.
I used BoBunny's Chiffon Double Dot & Chiffon Double Dot - Journal two-sided patterned papers with Creative Imaginations Corrugated textured paper & Stampin' Up Cardstock.
The stick pin is from Maya Roads, the ribbon is from American Crafts, I did a tight brown stitch around the edge with my sewing machine and distressed the edges with brown ink.
All the stamps came from CTMH's "Lovely Daisy", "Happy Birthday" and "Card Chatter-Birthday" stamp sets except for the one sentiment on the top left inside corner came from Stampin' Up's "Bring on the Cake" stamp set.
I used My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy True Blue 6 x 6 paper pack with Bazzill cardstock.
I used Stampin' Up's border punch and brads to embellish the card.
The school bus stamped image is from Stampin' Up's "It's Academic" stamp set and the alphabet border stamp came from CTMH's "Backgrounds & Borders" stamp set.
The rest of the sentiments were hand written.
For this teacher's card, I used Basic Grey's New "Out of Print" 6 x 6 paper pack with BoBunny Island Mist Double Dot & Bazzill Butter Dotted Swiss.
To embellish the card, I used a spiral clip from my stash, Basic Grey's "Out of Print" Paper Ribbon Doilies & Brads.
The owl stamp is from Whipper Snapper, the front sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Occasional Quotes stamp set, the "thank you" is from CTMH's "Thank You" stamp set and the inside sentiment is from CC Designs.
Copic Markers used: E000, E0000, E35, R02, RV42, YR02, YR20, YR 61 & YR65.
My soon to be 14 year old cousin, Darrien, graduated from Grade 8 this school year. She is very appreciative of all my homemade cards. So I thought instead of making her a card for graduation, I would make her a chipboard album to highlight her graduation.
The last day of school was not only tough for Darrien, but for me as well. My cousins used to live in my rental suite here and I was out on the front step with her when she got on the bus for her first day of JK.
After my cousins moved into their first home, their daughters still came here after school until they were finished work. This was Darrien's last time getting off the bus here after school.
Luckily, both of my cousins & my daughter are always emotional on the last day of school. As my sobbing girls got off the bus today, I met them out front with open arms and joined them in a cry. Then we went out for ice cream.
Darrien loved her album. I love her album.
The chipboard album is from an old line of BoBunny's. It actually spelled out "GRADE", I just didn't use the "E".
The patterned papers used throughout this album were all from Reminisce's Graduation Celebration two-sided patterned papers. The Black & Silver Glitter papers are from Best Creations.
I painted all the edges white. After gluing on the papers, I spent 2 hours sanding all the edges down so that none of the paper edges could get caught on anything and rip. Then I painted all the edges with white paint again.
I used the Varsity Cricut Cartridge for my lettering and the Tim Holtz Film Strip die cut with my Cuttlebug for the film strips.
All the Graduation photo mats are from a package of Me & My Big Ideas Graduation Photo Sleeves. The large white flower is from Prima Marketing and the flower in the middle of it was cut out from one of my nestabilities.
All the ribbon, rhinestones, the glitter brad & the "buds" plastic mini tag are from my stash from various companies.
The 6 black flowers in the album were white Prima Marketing flowers died with a CTMH Spray Pen & Black Re-inker and then glitzed with Tattered Angels Slate Glimmer Mist.
The grad cap die cuts were punched out with a small EK Success punch.
If you are wondering about the skull & cross bone ribbon, Darrien loves things with skulls & cross bones on it. So, I just had to incorporate it somewhere to make it more like her.
Here is a graduation card that I designed this year. I loved it so much that I have prepped to make a total of 8 of these cards.
In the next few years, our family has a few Grade 8 grads. Since I make a card from me and one from my grandparents, I thought this card would be a great one to have on hand to give out from my grandparents. This year we had two grad 8 grads in our family.
I used Reminisce's Graduation Celebration - Carpe Diem two-sided patterned paper and Bazzill Prismatic Black & White Cardstock.
The brads are from Scrapbook Sally, the buttons are from Fabricland, the ribbon is from Stampin' Up and the embroidery floss is from my stash.
The front sentiment is from Stampin' Up, the "Congratulations" is from CTMH and the little diploma stamp is from Stampendous. I drew the lines in with a ruler and a Zig black marker.
