Shake Your Tailfeathers!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Jessica is one of my daughter's girlfriends. She comes to our house after school until her parents are off of work and she is a scrapbooker/card maker with her own blog.

I had a lot of fun making this card for two main reasons. One, I got to play with one of Kraftin' Kimmie's newer stamp sets that I couldn't wait to get my hands on. Two, I got to use an action wobble for the first time.

You can't tell in the photo, but the scalloped oval die-cut is attached to an action wobble so the bird image wiggles back and forth. I have been dying to get my hands on these for the store, but the company hasn't returned any of my phone calls or emails for the last 8 months.

So, my wonderful mom ordered me some off of amazon.com and picked them up at Ryden's for me when she was in the states last month. So they have been sitting in my scrap room, taunting me for a month.

I used My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side - One 6 x 6 paper pad with Bazzill Tangelo & Red Rock cardstock.

To embellish the card, I used CTMH Brads, Stampin' Up Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch with embroidery floss from my stash, the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine with orange thread, Big Scalloped Ovals Large & Small Nestabilities and an action wobble.

The stamps I used are all from Kraftin' Kimmie's Tweets and Twitters Two stamp set. The bird is paper pieced.

From the Desk - Stampin' Up Party Sample

Here is the last sample that I was able to put together before my Stampin' Up Party on Saturday, March 17, 2012.

Amy made up green lemonade and mini chocolate cupcakes with green icing and decorated the house in green decor. I made up a fruit dip for green apples, dill dip for my green veggie trays (cucumber, broccoli & green peppers) and I threw everyone off with my marble cheese because I just couldn't bring myself to put out green cheese with the pickles. Oh! I also had green grapes.

Trevor, Amy & I were all decked out in green with special St. Patty's Day hats, but TJ took the adorable prize in his St. Patty's Day sleeper and hat. Sparkle kept shaking her hat off. So, no one got to see her St. Patty's Day spirit.

Thank you to everyone who came out to make cards with Jennifer and I. It was a great evening.

Congratulations goes out to Caroline Tierney who won the $60.00 Order Draw Prize. Not only did you get a free item from the Stampin' Up Sale-a-bration catalogue for every $60.00 you spent, but you also got a ballot into our draw prize that Jennifer & I put together and Caroline was our lucky winner.

Congratulations also goes out to Ruth Baker. In the spirit of St. Patty's Day, I also had a ballot for everyone who came to the party wearing green for another draw prize. I also had extra St. Patty's Day hats on hand for those who didn't have any green to wear. So, it was basically an attendance draw and Ruth was our lucky winner (she did wear green without my assistance).

I hope all who attended had as much fun as I did.

I used Jillibean Soup Sweet & Sour Soup 6 x 6 mini pad with Suede Brown Dark & Butter Cream cardstock.

To embellish the card I used Stampin' Up's Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Stampin' Up Scallop Edge Border Punch, Stampin' Up Notebook Edge Punch, Stampin' Up Word Window Punch, Stampin' Up Modern Label Punch and a paper clip from my office.

I used Stampin' Up's You're My Type stamp set and CC Designs Friend Sentiments stamp set with Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip Ink.

Easter with a Bit of Sparkle

Here is another Easter Card using stickers. I have been wanting to try out these stickers with the Burnished Velvet technique for some time and I finally got around to doing it.

I used Simple Stories Baby Steps Totally Adorable two sided patterned paper with Bazzill Parakeet cardstock.

To embellish the card, I used Stampendous Jumbo Gold Egg Class A' Peel Stickers, Stampendous Gold Spring Wishes Class A' Peel Stickers, Jewel Pink Glitter Ritz, Be Creative 3mm & 5mm tape and 8.5 x 11 sheet of tape, We R Memory Keepers Glitter Floss and Stamping Bella Glitter Gold Donuts.

The true beauty of the glitter on this card was very hard to capture with my camera, so as per usual, this card looks much better in person.

Stickers, including the ones used on this card, are 50% off at DAT'S until store close on Saturday, March 17, 2012.

Time: 6:30 p.m. Cost: FREE

At this Stampin' Up Party, instead of doing a set project, we have decided to have a little fun and let our guests make their own cards from my scrap bin. With the scrap bin, their will be punches, inks & markers available to help with your creation.

Jennifer, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, and I are making samples of cards with 5 different Stampin' Up stamp sets. If you don't feel like making your own card, you can copy one of our designs. This is one of the samples.

The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair 6 x 6 paper pad and I used Bazzill Ruby Red, Navel & French Vanilla cardstock.

To embellish the card, I used Stampin' Up's Eyelet Border Punch & Curly Label Punch. I also used EK Success' Small & Medium Corner Rounders, 1/2" Circle Punch & 5/8" Circle Punch.

I used Stampin' Up's Elementary Elegance & Petite Pairs stamp sets with Stampin' Up Rose Red & Pumpkin Pie Ink.

My stamping parties are always a lot of fun. We are quite excited about this one because we can't wait to see what types of designs everyone will come up with by using scraps and a few basic tools.

For more information about the party, you can call the store at 344-7702.
