On February 2nd it was my good friend, Krista's, birthday. Five of her friends, one of them being me, went out for lunch with her on her birthday at Boston Pizza. We had a great time.
This was the card a made her. She loves cupcakes, pink and Stamping Bella Lulu stamps. That is how this card came together.
The patterned papers are from The Greeting Farm and the cardstock is Bazzill. The brads are from Basic Grey and the ribbon is from an old line from All My Memories. I stitched with my sewing machine and the tape on the inside of the card is from Heidi Swapp.
The image stamp is from Stamping Bella, the sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie and the "Happy Birthday" stamp is from CC Designs.
I used the Stampin' Up Spritzer Tool and the RV34 Copic Marker to add a bit of colour to my white cardstock.
Copic Markers used: Burgundy - RV99 & R89; Pink - RV34 & Black - N8.
During our store's Christmas Shutdown, Trevor's work sent him to Niagara Falls for training. Trevor & I were planning on getting away together during our Christmas Shutdown, so we decided to make Niagara Falls our get away trip. We had a fabulous time!
I knew that I would have two days to myself while he was in training. So, I designed this Easter card. I pre-cut & stamped out everything before leaving town so that I didn't have to take as many tools with us on our trip. I prepped for 50 cards and I got everything done on the trip, but colouring and cutting out the bunnies.
The patterned paper is from Provo Craft, the card base is Bazzill Kraft and the matting cardstocks are from Core'dinations.
The circle & scalloped circle were cut with my Nestabilities, the hemp twine is from Home Depot and I used two Stamping Bella bling in the top left corner. On the inside of the card, the border punch I used is from Stampin' Up.
The stamps on the front of the card are from CTMH's March's Stamp of the Month "Sensational Season" Stamp Set and the inside sentiment is from Hero Arts.
Copic Markers used: Bunnies - E43 & E42; Pink Ears - R81; Blue Jacket - B32; Pink Dress - R85; Carrots & Ribbon - YR12 and Green - YG23 & YG21.
If you want to get CTMH's March Stamp of the Month to make your own Easter cards, Shanna, my best-friend & CTMH Consultant, is putting in a Close to My Heart order on Thursday, March 3, 2011. You can contact her yourself or drop by the store and I will hook you up with an order form.
This week's challenge on Sparkle Creations Weekly Christmas Card Challenge is to use Light Blue, Dark Blue, White & Silver.
Fabricland had a Member's Sale this past week and I made a point of getting to the sale because I noticed that I needed more variety in my thread colours. I have been doing more sewing on my cards and I realized that there were some colours that I was missing from my stash.
I got to the sale on Saturday and I picked up silver, gold & copper metallic thread amongst others because I thought that would be great to have on hand. The next morning, the challenge included the colour silver and the silver thread I bought was perfect for my project. I also bought some fabric that suited this challenge, but it didn't have the right feel for this card.
The patterned papers are from Stampin' Up and so is the Night of Navy cardstock. The white cardstock used on this card is Bazzill Smooth White and I sprayed it with Tattered Angel's Silver Glimmer Mist to tone down the brightness of the white and to add a bit of sparkle.
Besides stitching with my sewing machine, I used Heidi Swapp clear plastic snowflakes, Basic Grey rhinestones and Silver Jewel Glitter Ritz (micro fine glitter) to embellish this card.
The main image is called "Neva" from CC Design's Sweet November Stamps, the "Season's Greetings" is a Stampin' Up stamp and the inside sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado.
The silver glitter borders on my card were done with the burnished velvet technique using the Silver Jewel Glitter Ritz and Be Creative Adhesive Tape. The silver on Neva's cuffs & waist were done the same glitter, but I used a liquid glue pen instead of the tape. The silver tips on the clear snowflakes were done with the same glitter again, but this time I used CTMH's liquid glass.
Neva was coloured with the following Copic Markers: B0000, B91, B93, B95, B97, B99 & N1. Then I outlined some of her snowflake, her hair lines and eyes with the Copic Clear Spica Pen (glitter pen) to add a bit of sparkle to the image.
The oval die-cut that Neva is adhered to was not only glimmer misted, but embossed with a Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder. I used Spellbinder's Standard Oval Small & Large nestabilities and Grand Scalloped Oval nestability to mat Neva.
All the sentiment stamps used on this card were embossed with Class Act Stamps Detail Silver embossing powder.
As you can see, I had a lot of fun playing with different techniques on this card and as always, it looks much better in person.
This is a birthday card that I made for one of our uncle's birthdays this upcoming week.
All the patterned papers came from My Mind's Eye's Stella and Rose Mabel 6x6 paper pack and I used Brown & Tangelo Bazzill cardstock.
For embellishments, I used a KI Memories paper clip, Brown Ric Rac Ribbon from Fabricland, Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and an EK Success medium photo corner punch.
The moose stamp is called "Al Dente" and he and the front card sentiment is from Whipper Snapper. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Inkadinkado.
Copic Makers used: Brown - E27 & E15; Tan - E53; Green - YG95; Orange - YR12 and Reddish Orange - E08.
I am submitting my card to Paper Sundaes Challenge #57 - Masculine Colours. In this challenge, your creation does not need to be masculine, just predominately feature the masculine colours of navy, dark green and/or brown.
It may not look like it on my blog, but everything that looks black is a dark brown.
This week's challenge on Sparkle Creations Weekly Christmas Card Challenge is shopping.
I had pulled these papers aside last year to do this card on one of my girlfriend scrapbooking days, but I never got around to it. So, once I saw this challenge, I knew exactly what I was going to do.
The patterned papers are from Doodlebug and the cardstock is from Bazzill.
I used brads from CTMH, ribbon from Stampin' Up, Cotton Candy Stickles and a deep pink thread for the zig zag stitches that I did with my sewing machine.
The border punch and heart die-cut were both done with punches from EK Success and the oval & scalloped oval die-cuts were done with Spellbinder Nestabilities.
The image stamp is called "Miss Clause" from Sugar Nellie and the sentiment stamps came from CC Designs "Christmas Card Greetings" stamp set.
The Copic Markers I used are: Hair - E25 & E27; Skin - R00 & R000; Light Pink - RV11 & RV02; Dark Pink - RV34 & RV06; Red - R29 & R27; Green - YG25 & YG23; Teal - N1 & BG45 and Yellow - Y17.
I only had one 12x12 sheet of each of the background patterned papers and I was able to prep for 6 more cards. It should have been 7 more cards, but I messed up one of them. So I will have a total of 7 of these cards for my stash.
I have also submitted this card in the Stamping with Markers Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I didn't use an innovative colouring technique, but every colour on the image (excluding the yellow) was made with using two colours to create my own colour to match the patterned papers better.
Yeah for sick days!
My husband says that I am cruel, but I don't see it that way. I always try to make the best of things. Amy was home sick from school yesterday with a horrible headache and therefore couldn't make cheerleading last night. That means that I didn't have to taxi her and I got to stay home and play in my scrap room. I didn't wish for her to be sick. I just made the best of the situation at hand.
I got to play with some of the new things that I just received, like Stamping Bella's February Stamp Release & my Stampin' Up order.
All the patterned papers on this card are from My Mind's Eye's Fine and Dandy True Blue 6 x 6 paper pack and I used Candlelight & Tangelo Bazzill Cardstock.
For embellishments, I used the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine with some yellow thread, a paper clip from an old line from KI Memories, Stamping Bella 5mm Marble English Toffee Dots and last, but definitely not least......Stampin' Up Daffodil Delight Pompom trim.
I LOVE THIS NEW POMPOM TRIM!!!!! Right now, they are only offering it in Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango & Daffodil Delight in their Occasions Mini Catalogue. I am hoping enough people buy this ribbon or send Stampin' Up emails to encourage them to bring in more colours. It is half the size of any other pompom trim that I have ever bought. It is fabulous stuff!
Back to the card. The "sending Springtime smiles" sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Easter Blossoms stamps set. The other sentiment & the image is from Stamping Bella's "rainOnever-stopped-me-ABELLA stamp set.
I only used E25 & E27 Copic Markers for the hair & E00 & E000 Copic Markers for her skin. The rest of this image is paper pieced.
I am having a lot of fun with the easel cards lately and I had a lot of fun playing with my new stamps, ribbon & paper. I have wanted this paper pack for awhile, but I talked myself out of it. Once I had the pompom ribbon and this stamp set in my hand, I knew I had to use this paper pack.
I don't know how much more time I will get in my room this week with the Oliver Road Community Centre's Winter Carnival this weekend and workshop preparation, but I did just get in my Whipper Snapper order yesterday. So hopefully I will be able to carve out some time on Monday.
Thank you Robin! I had no idea about this blog challenge. I have entered my card in the Paper Piecing Challenge in Moxie Fab World. Check it out! You have until March 14th to enter.
Today is Kraftin' Kimmie's Release Day for her February stamps. I already have the new stamps here and they will be in the store when I open on Tuesday.
This is my husband's Valentine's Day Card. He loves the 57 Chevy. So when I saw the new release last week, I knew I had to make his Valentine's Day Card with some of the new stamps.
My first idea for this card didn't really work out. I was trying to have "Danny", "Judy" and the 57 Chevy all on the front of the card, but it wasn't working for me. So I did up the inside of the card a little more in depth than usual so that I could still use the "Judy" image that I had already coloured and cut out.
All the patterned papers came from My Mind's Eye's Stella and Rose Gertie 6 x 6 paper pack. I just got this paper pack in the store on Friday and I love it!
The ribbon is from Stampin' Up, the brads are from Basic Grey and I used EK Success Punches for the heart border & the heart die-cuts. The circles were cut out with a Marvy punch and a circle nestability.
The "Danny" & "Judy" images are from Kraftin' Kimmie's February Release and the 57 Chevy is from Stampin' Up. The "Danny" stamp actually has a motorcycle standing beside him. After inking my stamp, I wiped the ink away from the where the handle bar crossed over Danny's arm and after stamping the image, I drew in the missing part of his arm.
The front sentiment is from CC Designs "love-ly" sentiment stamp set. The inside sentiment is hand written except for the "happy valentine's day" is a stamp from katie & co.
Copic Markers: BG10, BG18, BG72, E00, E000, E04, E07, E15, E25, E27, E40, E59, N0, N2, R22, R32, R24, Y26, YG95, YR12, YR14, YR21 & YR24.
My girlfriend's and I put together an album for our friend who brought her daughter home from China in November. This album is set up so that she can log Quhyn's first year at home.
Back in December I posted the title page, last page and a December layout that I had designed for the album as my contribution to the project. Our friend, Ellena, wasn't able to complete her pages for the album, so I made these pages in her honour.
The December layout patterned paper is from Echo Park's Everybody Loves Christmas line and the cardstock is Bazzill.
I distressed the edges with my Distrezz-it-All tool and the owl was cut out from the Hoot 'n' Holler Cricut Lite Cartridge that I borrowed from my girlfriend, Lee-Ann. Thank you Snappy Scraps!
The brads are from my stash and the buttons are from Stampin' Up. The bobbles stamped by the word "December" are from Stampendous.
For the January layout, I used patterned papers from We R Memory Keepers Merry January line. I embellished with Platinum Stickles and the snowflakes stamped around the word "January" are from Doodlebug.
This was the other card that I made for my 2 year old cousin, Carmyn.
I had a lot of fun with this card. I inked some stamps that have never been inked before. I coloured a fun image with bright, playful colours and I really love how the inside of the card came together. So, there is no way that I could not of had fun with this design.
The patterned papers are from Basic Grey Euphoria 6 x 6 paper pack and the cardstock is from Bazzill.
The brads are from Scrapbook Sally, the ribbon is from Stampin' Up and I used CTMH Liquid Glass to make the bubbles shiny like bubbles. I used the Lacy Squares Nestabilities to mat the image.
The dragon stamp is from High Hopes Stamps, the sentiment on the front of the card is from Stampendous, the inside sentiment is from Stampin' Up & the stitches on the inside of the card were stamped with CTMH's Simple Stitches Stamp Set.
Copic Markers Used: Dark Pink - RV19, RV17 & RV11; Light Pink - R81; Blue - B12; Green - YG00 & G40 and Purple - V15.
This card was for Sparkle's Weekly Christmas Card Challenge #10 posted on January 30th. The challenge was to use a transparency.
I almost had it done in time. I needed to add a sentiment to the front of the card and finish the inside, but I decided to be a good mom & wife instead and I didn't ask for 20 minutes in my scrap room on our Family Movie Night to finish it.
Instead I finished it a day late. Oh well, I still got it done and that is all that matters.
I used a 4 x 6 My Mind's Eye transparency that had the corner flourishes on it.
On the Bazzill cardstock, I embossed the stamped images with Class Act Stamps Pastel Pink Embossing Powder. On top of the transparency, I added the Kaiser Craft pearls & Stampin' Up Satin ribbon.
The image stamp on the front & inside of the card are from Inkadinkado. The front sentiment is from CTMH and the inside sentiment is from CC Designs.
The cardstock isn't as dark of a pink as my photo shows, but it wouldn't shoot any better due to the transparency.
I actually got my card done for Sparkle's Weekly Christmas Card Challenge on the first day that the challenge was posted. This is a first for me.
This week's challenge is an inspiration photo of colourful, sparkly Christmas ornaments. I immediately thought of Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses 6 x 6 paper pack and matched it with Bazzill cardstock.
I used Basic Grey buttons, Stampin' Up Taffeta Ribbon and matching embroidery floss from my stash.
The nestabilities used on this card are Petite Ovals, Petite Scalloped Ovals & Labels One.
The image stamp is my new stamp that I just received in the mail last week called Holiday Emily from Sparkle Creations. I have been wanting her for a while. Shanna was putting in an order, so I added a few for myself....three to be exact.
The "Noel" stamp came from CTMH's Say it in Style stamp set and the inside sentiment came from CC Designs Holiday Greetings stamp set. These stamps were embossed with Stampendous' Pearlustre Hessonite Embossing Powder.
Copic Markes used: Skin - R00 & R000; Hair - E27, E29 & E25; Red - E07; Burgundy - RV69 and Pink - RV11.
This is a birthday card that I made for my cousin, Amanda, from my grandparents.
I used a 6 x 6 paper pack from The Greeting Farm, scrap pink paper from my stash and Bazzill Crabapple Dark for the cardstock.
The ribbon is from Stampin' Up and the brads are from Die Cuts with a View.
The image stamp is from CC Designs, the front sentiment stamp is from Stampendous and the "Happy Birthday" stamp is from Inkadinkado.
Copic Markers used: Hair - YR31, Y35 & Y32; Skin - R00 & R000; Burgundy - RV99 & R89 and Pink - RV34.
